As part of the planned expansion of Rodrigues Airport, we were proud to support Airport of Mauritius Ltd. alongside Insuco in carrying out a detailed Environmental and Social Impact Study. This project plays an important role in strengthening Rodrigues Island’s air connectivity, boosting tourism, and creating long-term opportunities for the local community.
Our work focused on understanding the island’s social landscape through a baseline study, identifying how the project might affect local communities, and designing practical solutions to make sure impacts are managed responsibly. We also developed a Stakeholder Engagement Plan to bring people into the conversation, ensuring transparency and that community voices were heard every step of the way.
The outcome was a clear and actionable Social Management Plan, built around international best practices and the World Bank’s Environmental and Social Standards, helping to safeguard livelihoods while supporting the island’s growth.

We Delivered
- Social Baseline Study (EBS): Built a clear picture of the island’s communities, livelihoods, and social conditions before the project.
